About the Author
TERRY WARDLE is Professor of Practical Theology at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio, and is the author of numerous books, including Untamed Christian, Unleased Church: The Extravagance of the Holy Spirit in Life and Ministry (2010); Strong Winds, Crashing Waves: Meeting Jesus in the Memories of Traumatic Events (2008); and Outrageous Love, Transforming Power: How the Holy Spirit Shapes You into the Likeness of Christ (2004). He conducts frequent seminars on emotional healing and leadership renewal for counselors, pastors, therapists, and other Christian caregivers. He and his wife, Cheryl, have three children and four grandchildren.

Highly Recommended if You Want to Improve Your Christian Walk

This book has completely changed my relationship with God. By implementing the three Rs (rest, receive, and respond), I have been able to hear God so much more clearly. I can honestly say He is becoming my best friend. If you want to change your relationship with God from an intellectual (head) relationship to a love (heart) relationship, I would highly recommend this book. The principles seem simple and the book is short. But if you implement them, it can improve your walk with God.

This is an AMAZING, life-changing book for all Christian caregivers and care-receivers! Terry provides an new paradigm for entering into the presence of God and simply taking time to be exactly where God wants us - in His presence.

Step-by-step development of a spiritual practice to rest in, receive and respond to God's love

If you are a fan of Richard Rohr, you will find truth, depth and understanding in this foundational, scripture-based, Christ-centered book by Dr. Wardle. Rohr says, "We're already totally in the presence of God. What's absent is awareness. God is maintaining us in existence with every breath we take. As we take another it means that God is choosing us now and now and now. We have nothing to attain or even learn. We do, however, need to unlearn some things." Terry understands sonship through Jesus Christ and ushers us into experiencing and "knowing" this way of living abundantly. As a spiritual director, I recommend this book to clients for its clear articulation of core truths of God's unconditional love for us and the development of spiritual practice that provides for us to live daily in that place, with every breath we take.
